It’s the big question on so many minds: how to really be a digital nomad?

The location-free life is the new dream, it seems. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve heard lately talking about moving to Bali and starting an online e-commerce store or monetising their blog.

But how, exactly, is it done?

Today, in an effort to provide you some answers to this mind-boggling question, I’m going to share with you a course that is changing my life.

The course walks you through the process of creating income online; taking you step by step through a variety of options, and showing you how to really be a digital nomad.

Actually I’m going to be totally generous and recommend three courses to you (you can thank me later). And then expand on the one that’s really working for me. But first…

The Dabbling Disorder Stage

Over the last three years, since I left my career as a paramedic, I’ve dabbled in just about everything. I’ve taken a bazillion online courses: business, writing, SEO, meditation teacher training, business, life coaching course, and did I mention business?

They’ve all been great, and I feel hopped-up on knowledge and skills. But so far all that information has remained a giant puddle of disorganised mish-mash in my head.

You might call it information overload. Which is something that any aspiring entrepreneur would know as the largest problem we face. There is no shortage of overall information out there. Rather a shortage of time and dare I say it: the RIGHT information for you. I call this place of being over-whelmed and over-informed the dabbling disorder stage.

Can you relate?

I think I know how she feels…

Narrowing that S**t Down

In a world where whittling down your brand and niche are key, and knowing how to become highly differentiated, all that info does nothing but make us feel like we’re a tiny speck of crap swimming in a giant (and wildly crashing) ocean.

It makes sense then, to find a course that specifically emulates the brand and niche you plan to go into. In other words, you’ve got to narrow it down. This can take some serious sorting, but (thank heavens) I finally found mine.

Can I get a #nomoredabbling.. whoop whoop!

And so, in effort to be of service to those who stand (or wander aimlessly) in my shoes, I’d like to share three courses I am currently taking that have been super helpful. Then I’ll hone in on the one that is really changing my life.

Who is this for?

This blog is specifically for the beautiful coaches, yogis, aspiring conscious entrepreneurs or social media influencers who long to live a life of location freedom. In other words, those of you who wish to move your business online so you can work whenever and from wherever you want.

DISCLAIMER: Please do not be fooled: one of the naive mistakes I made as an entrepreneurial spring chicky was to think that, “working whenever” meant not working much at all. I absolutely pinkie swear promise that if you want to be an online entrepreneur, digital nomad, freedomprenuer or any other title you want to label it, you will have to do a TON OF WORK. There are no fast ways to do this, so bring your A game and lets dive in…

The Courses

Ok, the three kick-ass awesome courses I want to tell you about are

Marie Forleo’s B-School

WorldNate and the Intrepid Entrepreneur’s Behind Closed DoorsProgram

The Unstoppable Family’s Freedom-Preneur Academy

Marie Forleo’s B-School

This is a staple course for any entrepreneur who wants to figure out or up-level their business or  offering. Marie Forleo is a f**cking legend, and her course is tight. Marie knows how to set the bar high, and everything she does is high end, beautiful, and gorgeously professional.

Just thinking about her makes me feel better about myself. Kind of like the way I feel when I walk into Whole Foods or a Business Class Lounge. Marie emulates her brand to perfection, serving as a walking example of what and who you want to be in business.

But: the course is general. The information was incredibly valuable, and while I couldn’t wait to tear through every module as fast as I could (and appease the #girlcrush I’d developed for Marie) I needed more specifics. I was left wanting more answers when it came to my specific niche: being a free-wheeling, world traveling, Digital Nomad type.

Marie’s course is also a sizeable investment, which I have zero regrets making (really, it’s that worth it). But its price-tag makes it inaccessible to everyone. Also, B-School is also only available once a year, so if you miss March’s intake, you have to wait a whole year before you can sign up again.

The lovely Marie Forleo… Looking gorgeous, as always.

So, you’ve missed B-School this year, or you don’t have the cash. No problem, lets move on…

Behind Closed Doors

World Nate is kinda like my personal hero. I love what he and his fiancé the Intrepid Entrepreneur have done with their business. They are traveling the world together, working from their lap tops and living the dream. Hannah and Nate support themselves with affiliate, digital, and social media marketing, and by teaching others how to do the same. Recently, they created an online program called Behind Closed Doors, where they share what they do (and have done) to get where they are. Each month they send out a monthly report to update members on what is currently woking for them. It’s a super authentic space, and pretty casual, which matches their brand to perfection.

But: while Behind Closed Doors is stacked full of incredible and valuable info: it’s not a formal course. Its more like being a part of a private online party, where you have access to insider information. It’s not organised into any format, it’s just all there for you to sift through at your leisure. The program is set up on a year long subscription, with a very reasonable one time payment. Definitely worth signing up for. (Do it now!)

Nate and Hannah loving it

Signed up for Behind Closed Doors? Great! It will be an excellent addition to the following course that’s changing everything…

The Freedom-Preneur Academy

Okey dokey, lets get down to business: this one is the life changer. This step-by-step program is run by the Unstoppable Family, comprised of Brian Swan, the Unstoppable Surfer, Rhonda Swan, the Unstoppable Momma and their daughter Hanalei. They’ve been traveling the world as a family since Hanalei was born and were running their business online before Facebook and You tube got started. In other words, they know what’s up when it comes to living a location-free online life.

The Unstoppable Family being goofballs

Once you sign up, which I highly suggest you do right now, you’ll have access to the Academy.

If you use this link, you’ll even get to try it out for free for the first 7 Days (but don’t forget to cancel by the 7th day or you’ll be automatically making your first payment).

The program is organised into eight pillars, with multiple trainings inside each one. Most of the training is given via video format, and I LOVE the no-bulls**t and powerful personality of the Unstoppable Momma (she tells it like it is that’s for sure). Each video comes with downloadable PDF’s with additional info and exercises for you to do.

The eight pillars of the course are:

+Mindset & Self Discovery

+Branding & Creating a Legacy

+Building and Monetising a Blog

+Choosing a Business Model

+Sales Funnels and Profit Machines

+Back End and Follow Up

+Social Media Marketing

+Product Development and Webinars

There are also a bunch of extras, the 5 core elements that has walk-you-through-it tutorials for pretty much everything, and I also paid for a couple of extras like the list building intensive and the traffic plan for like, $7 each.

And…… drumroll…. The whole thing is only $47 a month.

Seriously: its pretty ridiculous. I also kinda love that it is a subscription, because it means you’re paying based on how long it takes you to get through the content: which I find is a motivator to take it super serious. I cant tell you how many times I have paid for something and then thought: I’ll get to that later. Which I never do. There is something about knowing that I’m going to pay every month that inspires me to GET IT DONE! It also means you can stop it at any time.

Like it?

I thought you might.

What I love the most about the Freedom-Preneur Academy, is that they’re teaching you how to create the business and product that works for you, while tailoring everything to the assumption that your biggest goal is to create a LIFESTYLE. Becoming a Freedom-Preneur is not about being a bazillionaire, or being a big badass boss, its about creating a life that you love, while serving others and building a legacy that you can be proud of at the same time.

One of my favourite exercises so far was Brian’s Creating Your Perfect Day. I have the description of my perfect day, along with my “Why” (another one of my fave exercise) typed up, printed and stuck to my wall. It sits next to my desk so I can read it everyday.

But don’t be fooled, Rhonda wont let you stay in that dreaming phase. She’s super clear that knowing your why and having your perfect day figured out is important, but not as important as getting your ass into action and implementing what you’ve learned. Creating your sales funnels, drawing up a marketing plan, or getting that next blog written, it’s all about action in the Academy. And don’t worry, you’ll learn exactly how to do all of this once you sign up.

*Ok: transparency time. The Academy will teach you many forms of marketing. One of them is called Affiliate Marketing. Here’s your first lesson: by authentically sharing products or services that I love, I get an affiliate link. When you use my special link, I get a small commission.

Authenticity and transparency are the pillars of outstanding business (in my humble opinion), so I promise to always tell you which products I’m an affiliate of.

Wrapping It all Up

What I’ve learned the most from being in the academy is that success is all dependant on taking action. You know what happens if you say: I’ll do that later.

Amazing ideas and opportunities come by us all the time, and we say, “later”.

Sometimes an incredible blog idea will hit me square in the chest and I’ll think, I’ll write that down later.

But later never, ever comes.

If you want to escape the 9-5, create a thriving online biz, monetise that blog, blow up that e-commerce store, or you just want to be able to live wherever the hell you damn well please, then you’re going to have to get used to taking lots of action, and taking it now.

Hope this helps you get a a little bit closer to your dreams.

Love,

Kate
