Who is it for?
The course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn to relax or to deepen their capacity for meditation. Though excellent for everyone, it is particularly beneficial for those with fast-paced lives, recent stress or ongoing anxiety.
This 4 week experiential course is aimed at relaxing and renewing your whole being- body heart and mind- as a support for the meditative path.
The Art of Rest is an experiential program designed to relax and renew your entire being- body, heart, and mind- to support the meditative path.
This delicious, restful program addresses one of the key hindrances to meditation- restlessness and agitation. When we are anxious or unsettled, the mind resists slowing down and being present. We can get stuck in the repetitive cycle of busyness and mindlessness, resulting in stress and anxiety.
Learning how to deeply rest is an essential support for the meditative path. When we are relaxed, our mind naturally inclines toward states of presence, joy and calm. We are more easily able to rest in wholeness (samadhi) and mindfulness (sati).
The Art of Rest is a gorgeous, rest-filled blend of the Yoga and Buddha Dharma’s. It will be light on information and heavy on practices.
Each week will have different theme:
Week 1: Ways of Breathing
Week 2: Mindfulness of Movement
Week 3: Sculpting Prana & Yoga Nidra
Week 4: Restorative Bliss
We will meet for two hours every Tuesday night. The sessions will include a 20-30min teaching, followed by 90 mins of relaxation experiences, followed by Q&A if needed.
